You're Gram Blaze, correct? I've been waiting for you.

[The door to Nessiah's house is open, so the book can show Nessiah chatting with a group of strange people.]

Who are you?! Why do you know who we are?!

Who am I? Oh dear, and here I thought you were looking for me.

[The group discuss prophecies for a bit, a red-haired girl comes bounding past the book, a prophecy is given, the red-haired leader asks Nessiah to come with them, they discuss that for a bit, and...

Soldiers rise up from the earth around them. They're of many different types, some wielding swords and some axes, but one thing they have in common is clear: they show no sign of life. One of the group points this out.]

Necromancer, user of the dead. That is another of my identities.

...Zombie soldiers?

My wisdom and experience are the greatest in this world. Of that, you can be assured. If I come with you, you will surely have gained great power. Therefore, whether or not you can use me is not for you to decide. It is my decision. Let’s see if you can handle my power.

....what the hell are you doing?

I'm uncertain what you're referring to.

Are you raising a zombie army?

Date: 2010-09-05 03:54 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
It's really more of a platoon than an army in terms of size. But the general idea is correct.

What the hell is wrong with you?

Date: 2010-09-05 12:59 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
That's an interesting question, but I don't see my role as a necromancer to be part of the answer. They're only dead bodies. Without me they would simply rot.

Date: 2010-09-05 03:44 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com
How do you know they wouldn't rather rot? Maybe they don't want to fight in your stupid undead army! Maybe they'd rather stay dead!

Date: 2010-09-05 03:47 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
But they are incapable of protesting, you see. They're a resource like any other, and I have every intention of continuing to use them.

Will that be a problem?

Date: 2010-09-05 04:50 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com
I'm not talking about whether or not they can protest. I'm talking about what they want! Not to mention what you're going to use them for.

You're a disgusting piece of trash.

Date: 2010-09-05 04:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
Everyone does what they want in order to get what they want, everyone else be damned. I'm hardly the only one, merely one of the more successful.

And you are a naive fool, but let's not stoop to calling names.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:00 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com
That might be true, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't disgust me to see someone doing such fucked up stuff.

I'm not a naive fool, you moron. I'm a zombie.

From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
You really should do something about that oversensitivity.

If you have self-awareness, I don't see how one precludes the other. Though that is interesting. I assume you're in control of yourself rather than a necromancer.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:21 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com
I'm not over sensitive!

Of course I am. And I'll kill anyone who tries to take control of me.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:25 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
I've never tried to take control of a corpse that still could act on its own. It might be interesting, but on the other hand, I don't want to die.

Date: 2010-09-06 05:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com
Then stay the hell away from me. I've got enough problems.

From: [identity profile] tiedbydestiny.livejournal.com
Oi, oi, Shito. Calm down. I'm with you on the 'what the FUCK' issue, but... d'you suppose his zombies are worth bounty?

'Cause man, if they ARE... a whole fucking source of zombie bounties A-Loan can't get at! And just think, we'd even be doing 'em a favour and putting 'em out of their misery!

Oh, and just for the record, crazy necromancer dude? We will kill you if you try to fuck with us, he wasn't kidding about that.

Date: 2010-09-06 06:03 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com
I didn't think zombies from another world are worth bounty, but I guess it's worth asking Yuuta-kun.

From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
I suppose you would consider trying to retain possession of what is clearly mine 'fucking with you'. A completely biased view, in my opinion.

Date: 2010-09-06 04:26 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbydestiny.livejournal.com
Whatever, I'm not talking about you trying to stop us from taking out your zombies. I mean if you try to do anything to control us, or experiment on us, or anything, just 'cause we're zombies and you're a necro-whatever.

Date: 2010-09-06 04:36 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
It's a shame from an intellectual standpoint, but I suppose I see what you mean. It would be impractical to do so, anyway, given that I'm unable to be worldhopped. You may rest easy.

Date: 2010-09-06 04:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbydestiny.livejournal.com
Funny, that didn't stop the last two freaks who came after us. Not like it's hard to find a worldhop in this place.

So you've had your fair warning. I see you anywhere near either of us, and it'll get messy.

Date: 2010-09-06 04:59 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
I didn't say I couldn't worldhop. I said I was unable to be worldhopped. I've tried with multiple kinds of assistance.

If you come onto my world, you have had your chance to avoid me. I will deal with you in the manner I see fit.

Date: 2010-09-06 02:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
You were the one to seek me out. You certainly seem willing to add another problem to that list.

Date: 2010-09-06 03:08 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com
I didn't seek you out. I asked a question and expressed an opinion over the internet! People do that every single day.

Date: 2010-09-06 03:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
You'll have to forgive me, we don't have an internet where I am. From where I stand, it seems that you're bringing problems upon yourself.

Date: 2010-09-06 03:51 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
A statement of fact.

Date: 2010-09-05 04:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
A 'necromancer'?

Date: 2010-09-05 04:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
I would presume you had heard of the term before, but with other worlds being what they are, I really cannot make that assumption. Are you interested in a definition, or are you merely expressing incredulity?

Date: 2010-09-05 04:21 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
AH, I know what it is, but I suppose incredulity would be the closest thing - though I myself could be considered a necromancer of sorts. How do you manage it?

Date: 2010-09-05 04:24 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
Talent and years of experience. Many people fail to realize that spellcasting is an ability that needs to be honed.

And you? You're not the magic-using type.

Date: 2010-09-05 04:31 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
That seems a logical enough fact.

Science, of course, viruses and the like designed for the purpose. I'm curious now, however, what makes you say I'm not the magic-using type?

Date: 2010-09-05 04:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
So few people seem to possess that amount of logic.

I am a prophet. My guesses should be fairly accurate, should they not? Besides which, among magic-using circles, necromancy is well-known enough to be treated with very little surprise. Were you a magus or sorcerer, the notion of raising the dead upon a command would seem relatively simple. Are viruses much more practical?

Date: 2010-09-05 04:45 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
That's something I've found for myself, unfortunately.

Assuming you always raise the dead with such little apparent difficulty, then I would say the viruses are decidedly less practical. There tends to be all sorts of complications. Do you have direct command over the ones you raise?

Date: 2010-09-05 04:51 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
You have my condolences.

I do. They have no ability to act on their own without my commands. It's rarely more a more complicated task than this to call them forth - bringing back someone specific can be more challenging, but I rarely need to demoralize my enemies with having to face their fallen allies. My forces can usually handle matters without the help.

Date: 2010-09-05 04:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
Oh, I'm quite envious then. I rather think your undead hardly deserve to be called zombies at all, really.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:01 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
That's very flattering. How do yours work? I doubt I can offer any assistance given how much our methods differ, but it's certainly of interest.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
The usual sort tend to be mindless, uncontrollable, only interested in finding food. They're basically animals. It is possible to improve them, however, something that many have been looking into.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
That doesn't seem very useful... Good luck in your efforts, then. I'll be curious to see how much they advance in this lifetime.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
I've managed to make use of them well enough. But now you speak as if you've seen many lifetimes go by.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
Is that what it sounded like...? Surely if that were the case, I would want to watch the accomplishments over more than one?

Date: 2010-09-05 05:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
I may have read too much into it, my apologies, but it almost sounded as if you would be able to see the advances in another lifetime if you wished.

Date: 2010-09-05 05:44 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grancenturio.livejournal.com
That depends on what happens after the end of this one, I'm afraid. Are you a particularly religious man?

Date: 2010-09-05 05:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] visestvita.livejournal.com
Not in the conventional sense.
